THE MALIN · STORY

A workspace worth photographing

The bet behind Mercer St: rooms people love are rooms people work in.

When the first Malin opened above Mercer St on November 1, 2021, coworking mostly meant beer taps and phone booths the size of coffins. We opened 8,700 square feet with 38 desks, a real library, and furniture you would defend in an argument. Jordan Trinci-Lyne and Jean Morana led the interiors with Fettle Design.

Dezeen covered the space the following spring. Forbes called it a new standard for the category. The press was nice, but the point was always simpler: people do their best work in rooms that take work seriously. Quiet is an amenity. So is beauty.

Four years later there are thirteen Malins across five cities, and the rule has not changed. If a room is not worth photographing, it is not worth your Tuesday.
